HALM glass straws are the most hygienic straw alternative for your home and for hospitality businesses. Thanks to the transparency and smooth surface of the glass, any dirt can be spotted and removed in a flash.
Cleaning in the dishwasher at home
HALM glass straws are dishwasher-safe. The easiest way to clean them is therefore upright in the cutlery basket of the dishwasher. In the standard programme, the HALM straws are rinsed through from top to bottom and come out just as clean as a drinking glass. If there is no cutlery basket, the straws can also be placed on the prongs or simply laid in the cutlery drawer.
Cleaning brush for home
We include a handy, plastic-free cleaning brush with every one of our glass straw sets. We designed it ourselves as a custom-made item to make cleaning by hand easy as well. Depending on the length of the straw, the set comes with a matching brush.
Our brush is particularly good for stubborn and dried-on residue. In this case we recommend soaking the straws in a water bath and then cleaning them with the brush supplied. If you need more cleaning brushes, you can easily reorder them here.
Cleanliness on the go
Your HALM glass straw, incl. the cleaning brush, is always ready to use when you're out and about too. That way you can enjoy your next favourite drink on the go without plastic. After use, the HALM can simply be rinsed under running water and, thanks to the handy travel pouch, safely stowed away again.
Dishwasher cleaning in hospitality
In hospitality, HALM glass straws belong in the glasswasher or the commercial dishwasher. There they come out hygienically clean and can be reused without hesitation.
Thanks to the HALM cutlery basket, up to 80 glass straws can be cleaned in a single wash cycle. But any standard cutlery basket will do the job as well.
For stubborn residue, we recommend collecting the straws in a water bath beforehand.
Cleaning brush for hospitality
If the dishwasher can't be used, our HACCP-compliant, specially made hospitality brush is ideal for cleaning in restaurants, bars and cafés. Around 20 HALM straws can be cleaned by hand within just a few minutes.
The hard-wearing, robust brush adapts perfectly to the glass straw and ensures a hygienically clean result that every guest will appreciate.
