The exceptional strength of your HALM comes from the perfect balance between wall thickness and inner diameter. This makes handling and cleaning extremely easy and turns it into a highlight of your drinking experience. If your HALM straw should accidentally fall, it will remain intact in most cases. However, if it does break on very hard surfaces, the glass can be removed easily and safely and disposed of directly in a glass recycling container. Our production and quality assurance team ensures that all HALM straws undergo several Quality Controls have successfully passed to ensure that your HALM straws are delivered to you in perfect condition and lasts a lifetime!

HALM glass straws are made of the highest quality and purest special glass that our own expert and experienced team in Germany manufactures and produces.

Our high-quality and pure glass is based on the production of thermometer glass, as this is produced under conditions of the highest precision for longevity. This means that a HALM drinking straw also has higher stability than other glass straws and can be exposed to extreme usage.

The actual shape of the HALM straw is complemented by the rounded mouthpiece that is created when both sides are melted. This contributes to the unique drinking experience you have, only when using HALM Straws. In the last step in the production of a HALM straw, the glass is stabilised at high temperatures, removing the remaining tension. The energy used to heat our ovens in the production of HALM Straws is drawn from renewable energy from solar power. 

The difference may not be visible in comparison to other cheaper glass straws on the market from the far east, however, you will find many others miss the last step and don't correctly de-stress the glass, nor do they have consistent melted mouthpieces. Like other glass straw retailers, the type of glass used is made from Borosilicate glass, which contains boron oxide and is often mixed with other types of glass in poor manufacturing processes, causing glass impurities which in turn cause them to break more easily compared to HALM Glass straws. These factors greatly reduce the quality of glass straws. With HALM glass straws, you are guaranteed the best quality and purest glass that doesn't contain other elements that could potentially harm the environment or your health. 

HALM glass is part of a circular economy, unlike borosilicate glass, it can be recycled without any loss in the quality of the glass itself. Borosilicate glass ends up in the garbage dump or when put in glass recycling does not melt and cannot be recycled, therefore not very sustainable and is even harmful to the environment.

All our HALM glass drinking straws have a Inner diameter of 6 mm, so even the thickest smoothie fits through the drinking straws. On the outside, the HALM is smaller than an inch (9mm), so that a perfect mouthfeel is created.

These dimensions are no coincidence, as the perfect ratio of inner to outer diameter was developed by us to ensure the strength of the HALM straws and to guarantee you a pleasant and safe drinking experience.

You need a larger diameter? For our Hospitality customers, we have our Thirst Quencher Drinking Straws developed to enjoy milkshakes or aperitif drinks with small fruit pieces even better.

We have developed not only a tactile design and a smooth mouthfeel, but also a wide selection of different lengths the HALM straws, to ensure that there is a suitable size for each of your glasses. Here all lengths at a glance.

Almost every one of our sets comes with a handy and plastic-free Cleaning brush included, suitable for the respective HALM straws. Only our sets with individual name engraving from 10 pieces upwards come without a brush, as they are intended to be used as place cards or guest gifts and are therefore distributed individually. For this reason, a cleaning brush per set is not necessary.

At home, our drinking straws are placed in the cutlery basket of the Dishwasher completely wonderfully clean. If a drink was particularly stubborn, our cleaning brush will help you get a crystal-clear drinking straw again. We recommend using water and dish soap, as this makes it easier to pull the brush out of the HALM and prevents it from bending too quickly. We've already received feedback that trimming the brushes makes cleaning extremely easy. This is especially useful when you're on the go. That way, you can quickly clean your HALM with a bit of water and thanks to your Bag safely store for on the go.

Our HALM glass drinking straws always arrive cleaned and polished. Accordingly, you do not need to clean them before first use not clean.

We take our footprint on this earth very seriously and sustainability is at the core of our values.

Our cleaning brushes are therefore made from Natural bristles and are more environmentally friendly than the usual polyester/plastic cleanijg brushes for straws. No animals are harmed either in procurement or in production. The fibers used come exclusively from a shearing process that does not affect the well-being of the animals.

We have made it our mission to ensure the best cleaning for our Glass Straws and to use only natural and, above all, plastic-free fibers.

So far we've tried and tested many other materials in close collaboration with our product team and our current natural bristle brushes are functional and sustainable. However, we are constantly striving to improve our products to meet the needs of our customers. Therefore, we are still looking for a sustainable and vegan alternative to our current brushes that can equally clean and remain whole.

Our HALM straws are made from 100% pure glass and therefore free of pollutants: They are free from any toxic chemicals such as lead, petroleum, paint, metals, PFA, and BPA. Therefore, they are also excellent for children.

Borosilicate glass is a technical glass that contains boron oxide and is often mixed with other types of glass in poor manufacturing processes, which greatly reduces its quality. Would you like to design your HALM drinking straws individually? What a lovely idea! Here are a few things you should keep in mind:

1. The length of the lettering depends on the length of the straw, usually it is 35 characters the maximum. For hygienic reasons, we leave a distance of 3 cm on both hands of the STRAW. 

2. As soon as your personal order has been received, it will be processed by our team within 1-3 working days processed and shipped within the announced delivery time.

The engraving area is always 5.5 mm wide. The length, however, depends on the length of the straw because at HALM we offer multiple sizes to fit every drinking glass. For hygienic reasons, 3cm is left free for the mouthpiece at both ends. Our HALM therefore have the following engraving areas:

10 cm HALM : 4 cm long
15 cm HALM : 9 cm long
20 cm HALM : 14 cm long
23 cm HALM : 17 cm long
27 cm HALM : 21 cm long

Yes, for selected items – such as our 50-piece set with custom engraving – you can directly test a web preview in the product. There, you have various fonts and designs to choose from, which you can combine and try out in the preview.

If you want an even more precise approval, you can optionally a digital preview with approval add on. This way, you will receive a designed preview via email and can give your final approval for the layout before it is engraved.

Our HALM drinking straws are dishwasher safe. Therefore, cleaning upright in the cutlery basket of the dishwasher is the simplest and fastest solution.

If you don't have a dishwasher or prefer to clean the HALM manually, almost every set includes a plastic-free cleaning brush bei. Here, we recommend using water and dish soap, as this makes it easier to pull the brush out of the handle and allows all the dirt to be cleaned. We have already received feedback from our customers that trimming the brushes greatly simplifies the cleaning.

Yes, glass straws can safely be cleaned in the dishwasher. In fact, it is the most hygienic method of cleaning glass straws, just like any other glassware. The special quality glass from HALM Straws withstands the highest temperatures from -40 to +200 degrees celsius.

We recommend placing your glass straws upright in the silverware basket for best results. If you have a draw for your cutlery, you can also place glass straws laying down. We would recommend giving them a quick rinse through with the included glass straw cleaning brush for any stubborn organic material beforehand in this case.

HALM glass straws are produced in our own manufacturing plant, where the glass mixture is melted and stretched in a furnace. After the glass takes its shape into tubular structures, we typically cut the glass to length and a special melting processeson each end of the straws are completed to ensure each mouthpiece is rounded perfectly. At HALM, we ensure a consistently smooth mouthpiece on each straw to ensure the best mouthfeel for your drinking experience. Lastly, we remove any tension from the glass by heating them again in an oven at extremely high temperatures. This ensures the glass is the most strong and contributes to the best resistance HALM straws offers.

We use energy from renewable sources like solar electricity. Our production team ensure that all glass straws from HALM pass our multiple quality assurance controls,therefore guaranteeing a top quality product every-time. We recommend HALM glass drinking straws for children from 3 years - under parental supervision. They are very popular with parents not only because of their tactile feel, but also because they are free from any toxins—unlike other straws. The urge to chew on the HALM is just as low as with a drinking glass. Thanks to its repeated "relaxation" in the kiln, glass splinters never break off from it. And if the drinking straw falls onto a stone floor several times, it breaks into large, easy-to-pick-up pieces and can be disposed of in the glass container like other recyclable drinking glasses. But don't worry, with a Breakage rate of less than 0.01% This only happens in the rarest of cases.

Glass straws from HALM are resistant against both hot and cold temperatures and can withstand temperatures of -40C to + 200C°C. Easily enjoy your hot drinks, like hot chocolates or iced-cold drinks like cocktails with crushed ice or iced coffee. 

At HALM we use the best quality glass, which does not easily absorb heat. The glass wall thickness also ensures less heat is absorbed, therefore lowering the temperature that touches your lips when drinking.

The main focus here was on Stability, hygiene and of course sustainability. The glass and structure of our HALM is indeed very sturdy, but not unbreakable. Despite its high stability, our HALM is still made of glass, and glass can break. We're sorry to hear that the cleaning brush got damaged. Sometimes, if you push the brush too hard into a reusable straw it can bend out of shape sometimes. We always recommend to use water and dishwashing liquid to clean glass straws easily. If you feel that you are not getting optimal results from a damaged brush you can buy replacements on our online shop here.

When you think of straws, the impractical, ugly disposable plastic straws probably come to mind first. They are not only ugly but also environmentally harmful.
Daily, worldwide 3 billionPlastic straws are used and usually thrown away after just a few minutes. In contrast to plastic bags or coffee-to-go cups, there is much less awareness in Germany about the damage plastic straws cause to our environment. However, in Germany alone, every year 40 billion Single-use plastic straws consumed. Per capita, that is 1.3 plastic straws daily. They are relatively small and weigh only a few grams – How much plastic is that already?

The life of a plastic straw, however, does not end once it is disposed of by the user. It can take up to 500 years pass. Because contrary to common belief, plastic straws can be passed due to their size not recycled Plastic straws disrupt the recycling process, clog machines, and can even destroy them. They are therefore not recycled but end up in landfills and waste incineration plants.

Due to current (missing) disposal routes, the single-use straw often ends up in our waters, where it causes indescribable damage. Every 7th item At beaches and rivers, there is a plastic straw. Not all glass can be recycled. It is important to take into consideration the quality of glass when purchasing, not only because higher quality glass lasts longer, but in case of breakage, it can be recycled. Glass straws from HALM are 100% recyclable and operate in a circular economy. That means, when the glass is disposed of in the glass recycling container, it will be melted down and will maintain its quality, therefore making it possible to reuse the glass for other glass objects in the future. 

Glass straws from cheaper manufacturers are likely not recyclable because they use low-quality glass, either made from borosilicate glass or a mix of unknown different types of glass where it can no longer be properly melted and recycled in the standard recycling processes at local waste management facilities.

We deliver all our orders within Germany free of charge, plastic-free, super fast and climate neutral with Deutsche Post, DHL, or Amazon Logistics. International shipments are also sent plastic-free and climate-neutral via Warenpost International, UPS, Amazon Logistics, or DHL Express. If you're in a real hurry, you can even have your order delivered by express.

Shipments within Germany that more than 1 set beinhalten, können nachverfolgt werden. We ship to most countries worldwide. During checkout simply enter your delivery address and shipping will be calculated during checkout. We ship our orders from Berlin, Germany and in any case you do require a large shipment, we also send them free of charge to Germany.

All orders with a valid delivery address in Germany, no matter how large, are free of charge and climate neutral. Express shipment is available at an additional cost. Overseas shipment is also available from 1.99 euro.

You are rarely at home and would therefore like to have your order delivered to a parcel locker? Delivery to a parcel locker is only possible for personalized items (minimum 10-piece set). The only important thing is that you Post number does not forget and enters it in the "Company" field.

Additionally: Delivery to parcel lockers and post offices is possible, but not to P.O. box addresses.

Standard items unfortunately cannot be sent to a Packstation. If you are not at home at the time of delivery, your order will usually be left with a neighbor or a nearby service provider.

If you do not want to keep your set of HALM Glass straws, or you wish to exchange them for another set, simply contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order or customer number and our service team will assist you. Please note for returns and exchanges, the contents must be returned in the condition it was delivered. Additionally, orders which were custom designed with engraving or packaging, nor used items can be exchanged.
