In our search for eco-friendly alternatives to plastic straws, we tried out and compared many other options such as bamboo, stainless steel and silicone. Our clear choice was glass.
Because it is reusable, sustainable, hygienic, easy to clean and timelessly stylish.

Design, function and feel
The decision to go with glass was made quickly. But HALM was not meant to be simply a glass straw – it was meant to be a product in which design, function and feel work together perfectly.
That is why thousands of restaurateurs swear by HALM: they know they can rely on its high quality. They use our glass straws every day in their cafés, hotels, bars and restaurants, proving just how robust they are.

Extremely sturdy, extremely good
To make sure you can use your straw for a long time, HALM uses only extremely sturdy quality glass from Germany. Safety has top priority in our elaborate manufacturing process. From the production of the raw glass, through cutting and fusing the edges, to “annealing” in the oven: we leave nothing out in order to turn our straws into robust everyday objects.
By the way, we use solar energy for processing the glass. Last but not least, our double quality control ensures that every single straw is a flawless product of the highest quality.

An eye-catcher in the glass
To guarantee the high stability of our straws, we chose thick-walled glass that stands in a physically favourable ratio to the inner diameter.
As a bonus, this special combination makes for a harmonious look in the glass, as it corresponds exactly to the “golden ratio”. Da Vinci famously used it to give his art its harmony. Even if we certainly can't compete with the Mona Lisa, our straws are an eye-catcher in the glass time and time again!

The HALM Effect
The wonderful mouthfeel of our straws comes not only from choosing the right diameter but also from the carefully refined fusing of the edges. No wonder nobody wants to drink from any other straw once they have experienced the HALM feeling.
We tested every size, and with HALM you now get the ideal solution. HALM glass straws have an inner diameter of 6mm and an outer diameter of 9mm.

Free from toxins
Unlike plastic, our straws are free from harmful substances. Our glass contains no toxic chemicals and is lead-free and BPA-free. Our straws are available either clear or in various colours.
To clean our glass straws, simply pop them in the dishwasher. On the go, you can use our brush, which we always include free of charge.

Sipping at the highest level
Are you used to chewing on straws? With our straws you'll quickly lose interest in that. And if you or your child can't resist after all: don't worry, HALM is guaranteed to stay intact!
HALM is for everyone: all children who already drink from glasses can use HALM without hesitation. That is why we recommend HALM for children aged three and up. Our bent straws are especially popular with kids.

HALM is for everyone
HALM is your friend, whatever you're thirsty for. With our many different lengths and designs, from short 10cm mini straws to bent 30cm mega glass straws.
You can also enjoy cold iced teas just as well as warm lattes, because our glass withstands temperatures from -40 to +200 degrees.
A nice side effect, by the way, is that HALM also works brilliantly as a stirrer for cocktails. And when you're drinking something fizzy, HALM - unlike plastic - doesn't float up straight away but stays nicely in place.
The end is just the beginning
Circularity matters to us. We believe in products that are reusable and can be recycled at the end of their life. That goes without saying for glass? Far from it! Many manufacturers use borosilicate glass. If such a glass straw breaks, it cannot simply be disposed of in the bottle bank, because the melting point of this glass is too high. HALM does without borosilicate and petroleum-based paints. In the rare event of a breakage, our glass can therefore be completely recycled without any loss of quality and reused. This is how a resource-saving circular economy works.
We give our all for the best straw in the world!
